Patients pulling together for change
People with advanced breast cancer who speak publicly about their desperate plights are heroes.
Breast Cancer Foundation NZ greatly admires everyone who allows their stories to be shared in an effort to fight for funding of urgently-needed, life-prolonging drugs.
Telling their stories in public is stressful and painful to them and their families. Often these courageous Kiwis will not even benefit themselves; they are battling to help others in the future.
We stand together with all those people, their families, doctors and advocates who demand access to proven medicines which are the standard of care in comparable countries. This is not Big Pharma pushing; this is patients pulling together for change. The fight goes on.
