Help shape the future of breast cancer

As part of a new initiative to improve the lives of people affected by breast cancer, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and Sweet Louise want to better understand women's experiences.

We are inviting people to take part in small group workshops to share their experiences in a supportive and inclusive environment. Each session will be led by expert health and cultural facilitators from Deloitte, and designed to foster open, safe, and meaningful discussions. The workshops will be held in-person in Christchurch, Auckland and Northland over two-three hours. There may be an option to join online. Koha ($100 BP voucher) will be provided and participants are welcome to bring a support person if they wish.

Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking women who:

  • have been diagnosed with breast cancer in Aotearoa between 2020 & 2024
  • aged 25+
  • live in Northland, Auckland or Christchurch
  • have/had stage 2, 3 or 4 diagnosis

With a particular focus on the following groups: Wāhine Māori, Pacific women, women who were diagnosed after finding a lump or other symptom (rather than routine screening) and women diagnosed under 40 years old.

    How to participate:

If you are interested in taking part in a workshop in February or March, please complete this brief survey.

    Additional information:

This survey will ask about your diagnosis, including your stage at diagnosis. We understand this may be an emotional process.

If you would like support in completing the form or have any patai (questions) before deciding if you'd like to participate, here are some ways you can contact us:
