The PAM study is designed to explore the effects of combining a talk therapy called meaning-centred psychotherapy with repeated microdoses (very small doses) of LSD on psychological well-being and cancer-related distress.

This study is designed to explore the effects of combining a talk therapy called meaning-centred psychotherapy with repeated microdoses (very small doses) of LSD on psychological well-being and cancer-related distress.

What's involved?

- One screening visit to the University of Auckland

- Receiving either a low dose [microdose] of a psychedelic (LSD) or a placebo totake over six weeks (13 doses in total)

- Receiving seven sessions of psychotherapy over the six weeks

Eligibility criteria

- Diagnosis with a incurable Stage IV solid organ malignancy

- At least 6-month prognosis at screening

- Moderate to severe distress

- At least 25 years old

- No cerebral metastases
