ABCpro

Recruiting
Updated: May 5, 2021

This trial is evaluating a new online service for managing self-reported symptoms by people with advanced breast cancer.

Women with advanced breast cancer (ABC) commonly experience symptoms that can affect their wellbeing and functioning. With this new service, more timely will be offered to you and your whānau with regard to managing ABC symptoms that negatively affect your wellbeing and functioning.

This trial will compare the ABCpro service compared to the usual care you have previously received.

Study details

Participants will complete weekly online surveys about common symptoms of ABC and side effects associated with ABC treatments. These surveys can be completed at home, via a browser or text. The survey responses are then sent to an ABC nurse who will use the responses to assist patients to better manage symptoms and side effects from home in between regular clinic visits. The survey responses will also help your oncology team to decide if you need further tests or treatments.

Patients will also complete quarterly quality of life questionnaires.
